has a passion for teaching Bible and theology, especially the Old Testament, and leading conversations around visioning and discernment for church and life. When not leading, teaching, studying, or reading, he can be found hanging out with his family at his girls’ sports and music events – or running on a trail somewhere.
Seth was born in Brookville PA, grew up in a log cabin, and played baseball any spare moment he had. A year after graduating high school, he married Heather (Parker) in May of 1999 while attending Gardner-Webb University. Following a call to pastoral ministry and transferring to Asbury University in Kentucky, he received his MDiv from Asbury Theological Seminary in 2006 and they moved back to Western PA to serve in the United Methodist Church in early 2007. Now serving at Community Church, he was an associate pastor for Christ UMC in Bethel Park where he served as Pastor of Discipleship for that large suburban congregation. Seth and Heather have three daughters, Laylah, Naavah and Eliyah.
He is currently writing his PhD dissertation on Communication Ethics and Rhetoric for Duquesne University, where he instructs a professional communication course each semester as well.
